Vineyards La Cepa Alta S.L. was founded in 1991 in Olivares de Duero, a small hamlet in Valladolid (Spain). With the principle of creating a quality wine, as has always been done in this region, applying the latest technologies available in doing so.
At our disposal we have 34 hectares of vineyards, in the Ribera de Duero area. The ground conditions along with the micro-climate help to create a produce with special characteristics and without doubt forming the heart and soul of our wines.
The basic variety is 90% ‘Tinta Fina’ the remainder being Cabernet-Suavignon, Malbec and Merlot. Forming a smooth and respectable mixture without altering the strength of our main variety.
For marketing purposes we have choosen the brand name ‘Laveguilla’ taken from the title of one of our plantations. Our first product was produced in 1992, presenting a fresh claret wine, matured in oak barrels, later came the Crianza, Reserve and Gran Reserve wines. |
